PASSPORT AND SUBSCRIBER INFORMATION
PUBLICATION ONLINE ACCESS



HOW TO READ A "SUBSCRIBER-ONLY" or "PASSPORT-ONLY" ARTICLE AT MY.ADVISOR.COM:

Some articles require sign-in to read. Such articles often display a key icon and/or say "Subscriber-only" and/or "Passport-only" and/or say "for Subscribers of" + publication name.
  = Free Access
  = subscriber-only access
  = Subscriber/Passport-only download

To read a Subscriber-only or Passport-only article, you must:

  • Be (or become) a subscriber of the named Advisor publication, or buy a suitable Advisor Passport, and...
  • Get your Subscription or Passport activated for online access -- follow the detailed steps below -- and...
  • Sign-in to read the article, on a publication or article page, using the "Sign-In" link near the top-left.
Only a signed-in, activated Subscriber or Passport holder can access the publication's articles and downloads online. Everyone else sees only summaries of such articles. In most places where articles are listed, you are told what Subscriptions or Passports will give you access to the article or download. If there is no symbol, the full article is not available online, but probably available in an anthology CD or printed back issue.

HOW TO GET ONLINE ACCESS TO PASSPORT/SUBSCRIBER-ONLY ARTICLES
SIGN UP FOR MY.ADVISOR.com:
  • Online access requires that you have a unique My.Advisor.com Username and Password.
  • If you haven't already, sign up for My.Advisor.com access right now.
  • Then buy a Passport or Subscription, or renew a Subscription, at http://AdvisorStore.com, and follow the corresponding instructions below.
PASSPORT OR SUBSCRIPTION VIA ADVISOR STORE:
  • Go to AdvisorStore.com and buy a Passport or start or renew a Subscription. Provide your My.Advisor.com Username on the order form as instructed. (Caution: This requires the exact Username that was assigned when you registered with My.Advisor.com.)
  • Online access via AdvisorStore.com will be activated automatically, if you provided your exact Username in the order. Activation can take just minutes, but please allow 1 business day for the server to process all new orders. You will not be notified of activation success or failure; if after waiting 1 business day you still don't have access, see "PROBLEM" below.
SUBSCRIBE VIA ADVISOR CUSTOMER SERVICE:
  • Contact Advisor Customer Service to start or renew your subscription, and provide your My.Advisor.com Username and subscription details.
  • Please understand that this method requires manual processing, so it can take 1 to 2 weeks to update your online access. When you contact Customer Service, provide your Provide your My.Advisor.com Username, your order details, and for a renewal also submit your existing subscription details.
START READING:
  • Once you are activated with a Passport or Subscription to a particular publication, it's simple:
  • Sign in on the publication's site. You'll immediately be switched to My.Advisor.com, where you will have access to ALL the articles and downloads that are included in your Passport or Subscription. You'll see the full contents of every article you click on -- IF you have a Subscription or Passport to a publication that includes that article.
IMPORTANT: You must do the sign-up process yourself. No one else can do it for you. Don't "wait" -- you won't receive a notice that it's been done by someone else. Your sign-up is not done automatically, it's not done when you buy a subscription, it's not done by Customer Service, not by a subscription agency, not by anyone -- only by you. This is necessary to ensure your identity and information are correct and secure.
PROBLEM?
  • If you do not see the full contents of an article, sign in while viewing the article summary on http://My.Advisor.com and the screen should immediately refresh and show you the entire article.
  • If you sign in but don't see full contents, make sure you really have a Passport or Subscription to the appropriate publication, and that you have activated online access, and that you are viewing it on http://My.Advisor.com.
  • If you still have a problem, please contact Advisor Customer Service and provide your exact My.Advisor.com Username. If you purchased via AdvisorStore.com, please provide your order number. Customer Service can manually activate your access, fix a typo in your Username, reset your Password, and help you clear up other problems. (However, if you are using an "ad blocker" we can't help you, because it alters the workings of our Web pages.)

HOW TO BECOME BUY A PASSPORT OR SUBSCRIPTION: Go to AdvisorStore.com.

PASSPORT and SUBSCRIPTION HOLDERS: Your magazine or journal Passport or Subscription gives you online access to all the articles, including new articles that might be posted from time-to-time.

If you desire access to articles in other publications, you must buy an appropriate Passport or Subscription. In some cases, you can get a Passport or Subscription that includes the articles in multiple publications. See what's available at Advisor Store.

WHAT'S IN THE ADVISOR ARCHIVE?

The Advisor Library contains the articles from new issues as they are published, and entire articles from recent years, back to January 2000 for most publications, and in some cases earlier.

You can determine whether a complete article is online by noticing whether it is listed with a "glasses" or "key" icon. Lack of an icon means the article is not currently available online.

Also, the Advisor Library database lists titles and summary information about essentially every article published since the mid-1990s. You can use this database as an index of articles so you can easily discover what's in your personal collection of past issues, or get classic know-how on the Advisor Anthology CDs that are available in Advisor Store.
