Water is a Habit of Health
We all know water matters....but just how much and why? Your body is made up of 50 to 65 percent water, so as you use your body, you use the water you put in and therefore need to replenish it daily. How much you may wonder....half of your body weight in ounces. Yes! Half!
If you weigh 100 pounds, you should drink 50 ounces of water, if you weigh 200 pounds, you should drink 100 ounces of water. Just do the math - if half of your body is water, you must drink half of your body's worth in water to replenish it as you use it.
A lot of people ask why....various reasons, some as simple as keeping your joints, digestive system and blood and organs lubricated. It is like oil for your car; Or, like water for your car...it helps you through perspiration to regulate your body temperature as well as moisturizes your skin and hair from the inside out. Water helps you look and function better.
When dehydrated, our bodies become mentally and physically fatigued.
I am sure you have felt dizzy, less focused, suffer with short-term memory, have had a headache or "cloudy" feeling. What about dry, itchy skin or flaky scalp? These are side affects of not enough water. Your health suffers, so a true healthy habit is to drink plenty of water to love and support your body.
If you are in a weight loss phase or detox phase, it is critical to drink plenty of water as water is the transport of the fat and toxins out of your body. You must drink enough to not allow the fat and toxin waste to circulate through your blood stream.
Having a happy, healthy body means you've got plenty of water in your tank. You'll feel better, look better and function better, so drink up!
